Benedictine Monks

Assumption Abbey

In these pages are found Sunday homilies for Year A.  Not all Sundays are represented.  These homilies were given by Abbot Brian Wangler, OSB, At Assumption Abbey, Richardton, ND.  A current homily can always be found at the Abbey’s web site:

Assumption Abbey is located on southwestern North Dakota on the great plains, which begin in Canada and end in Texas. It is a semi-arid region.  This means that there is hardly ever too much water by way of rain or snow.  But sometimes there is a lot of snow and at other times there are good rains providing good crops. In this area the monks work and pray for the glory of God.

Besides living at the Abbey with its prayer, monastic life-style and wide variety of work, monks also serve as pastors of parishes, as chaplains, university professors, etc.

We welcome you to consider a life as a Benedictine priest or brother. Please contact us at: or call us at 701-974-3315 or write to: Assumption Abbey, PO Box A, Richardton, ND 58652.  You are in our prayers.
